The breakwater is handed over to the Admiralty
The building of the breakwater was completed in 1909 and passed into the hands of the Admiralty in October of the same year. The project cost a million pounds. About 500 workers worked on it.
The first stone was laid by King Edward VII in April 1903 during his visit to Malta.
