Erin Serracino Inglott was born in Isla on 16 October 1904. He was a Maltese playwright, poet, novelist, novel writer, lexicographer, philologist and translator.

He was the first chess player to represent Malta internationally and was also passionate about operatic music which led him to write various Maltese opera songs. His works include plays, songs, short stories, novels and various others all in Maltese, a language which was one of his passions.

After getting married, he moved to Bormla. He died on 22 August 1983.
