On the night between 18 and 19 October 1837, a ciborium filled with consecrated hosts was stolen from the Church of St Teresa in Bormla.

Two days later, this was found hidden in a part of the ramparts inside the Birgu moat. The friars of St Teresa built a small chapel in this place and the area is still called to this day ‘Where They Found the Lord’.
