The Maċina in Isla becomes the Headquarters for the Malta Labour Party
The Maċina Bastion together with some nearby buildings became the new headquarters of the Malta Labour Party in 1980. This occurred after the previous Labour Party headquarters, known as the Freedom Press, passed into the hands of the Malta Shipbuilding.
The Labour Party continued using the new headquarters until the end of the 90s.
