The Clock tower in Birgu is destroyed
Found in Birgu Square, the Clock Tower had five floors and was about forty metres high. The clock was installed on the tower in 1629 and the time was shown on two sides.
The fourth level had a balcony that surrounded the tower and one of the bells dated to 1504. The tower was lost during the war after being hit three times in April, with the final blow being on 27 April 1942.
