The Oratory of the Crucifix is inaugurated in Birgu
This building of the Oratory of the Crucifix in Birgu dates back to the 18th century. Its first stone was placed by the Chaplain of Birgu, Fr Carlo Colonia, on 18 December 1720.
This project which took more than three years to be completed was inaugurated by Chaplain Colonia on 29 February 1724, in the presence of Inquisitor Antonio Ruffo.
