On the shore of Isla, on 4 September 1921, Archbishop Mauro Caruana crowned the titular statue of the Bambina at the Isla Basilica.
This ceremony was attended by many people who not only thronged the shore but filled every corner of the roofs, balconies and streets and watched even from the sea.
