Water arrives from Fawwara to Cospicua through an aqueduct
An aqueduct, 9 miles long, was built in 1845 to transfer water from Fawwara to Cospicua. This project provided employment to around 300 workers.
On 7 July 1845, water arrived in Cospicua amid the great joy of the population. Water pipes started being laid on the 19th of December 1845 in the streets of Cottonera to provide water to Birgu and Isla.
