On Wednesday, 7 March 1956, the Cot Lift at Bighi’s Naval Hospital was re-inaugurated after repairing the damage it suffered during the Second World War. The inauguration was done by the wife of the Commander-in-Chief, Lady Grantham, in the presence of the Surgeon Rear-Admiral S.O. Weldon.
